I’m a Perth-based travel writer, photographer and content creator helping travellers plan memorable adventures across Australia, Japan and everywhere in between.
Here on tessomewhere, you’ll find practical itineraries, honest travel advice and in-depth destination guides created from first-hand experience.
My aim is to help you move from feeling overwhelmed by all the possibilities to feeling confident, informed and genuinely excited about your next trip.
Because while I love an incredible view or Instagrammable cafe as much as anyone, I believe the best trips come from knowing the details: where to stay, how long to spend somewhere, what’s actually worth doing and those useful little things you often only discover once you arrive.
Besides, your holiday time is valuable, so I believe the best trips are the ones that have been planned to take the stress out of the logistics, allowing you to make the most of your time on the ground.
How tessomewhere began
Travel has always been an important part of my life, but for years I was much more focused on exploring overseas than travelling within Australia.
That changed in 2019 when I spent six weeks volunteering and living in Broome, in Western Australia’s remarkable North West. I fell completely in love with the region’s ancient landscapes, vivid colours and sense of adventure.
That experience sparked something in me – and it was in Broome that the idea for tessomewhere was born.
After almost a decade working in corporate finance, I eventually left my career in 2022 to pursue travel writing, photography and content creation full-time, something I never would have imagined possible.
The analytical side of me never quite disappeared, though. These days, I channel it into researching trips, refining itineraries and creating the kind of genuinely useful travel guides I always want to find when planning my own adventures.
The way I travel
I’m drawn to places that make you pause for a moment and wonder whether what you’re seeing is real.
Some of my most memorable travel experiences have included scrambling through the ancient gorges of Karijini National Park, flying over Uluru as the landscape turned golden at sunset and road-tripping through the volcanic scenery of Kyushu in Japan.
You’re more likely to find me hiking through a forest, chasing waterfalls or setting off on a road trip than relaxing beside a resort pool – although I’ll rarely say no to a beautiful boutique stay at the end of an adventurous day.
Western Australia and Japan are the destinations I know and write about most deeply.
I’ve travelled extensively throughout WA, lived in the Margaret River Region and explored much of Japan across seven separate trips. But you’ll also find guides covering my favourite destinations throughout Australia and across Asia.
These days, I often travel with my husband and our young daughter, which has added a new perspective to the way I plan and experience a destination.
I’m still seeking out remarkable landscapes and meaningful experiences – just with a little (okay, a lot!) more luggage and considerably more snack planning.

I visit the places I write about, take my own photographs and share the details I believe will genuinely help you plan. That includes what I loved, what I would do differently and what might not be worth your limited time or money.
In a crowded digital world, I want tessomewhere to be a trusted resource you can return to whenever you need practical, honest and thoroughly researched travel advice. I don’t use AI to write my content, everything you read here is written 100% by me, and me alone.
I also believe we have a responsibility to explore thoughtfully. Wherever possible, I encourage travellers to venture beyond the most obvious places, support local communities and treat the landscapes we are privileged to visit with care.
My work has been recognised as a finalist in the Australian Society of Travel Writers Awards for both Best Travel Website and Best Instagram Travel Photo. More importantly, my guides have helped hundreds of thousands of travellers turn an idea into a trip they feel confident taking.
